Air Conditioning

Thanks to special inverter controlled systems air conditioning today is about a third more energy efficient than it as some years ago.

Almost all systems have an external condenser and an internal unit which are connected together by pipes filled with a referigerant.

There are various types of unit depending on customers application, wishes and budget.

Probably the most common, cheap and chearful optio is a wall mounted unit at high level.  There are concealed models which take in air at the bottom and send cold air out of the top. These are normally concealed in joinery (by the client).

Duct mounted units are commonly used in bedrooms where the main unit can be in the loft with two grilles in the ceiling to extract and supply air.

Fan coil units can also be used in conjunction with air conditioning systems.

Most systems as well as providing cooling will also supply heating.

It is possible to have several internal units running off one outside condenser.

Normally all the units on one system have to be either in heating or cooling mode, however some more complex systems will allow both cooling and heating to work on the same system at the same time.

Care must be taken to ensure that the air conditioning system and heating systems such as under floor heating control systems are interphased so that when the air conitioning is put on the heating does not also activate.
