Compared with a standard central extract ventilation system whole house ventilation offers substantial savings of energy, quiet operation without noise or air pollution frequently associated with supplying air to a house via trickle vents. Stale humid air is extracted from the wet rooms of a house and is passed through a heat exchanger and expelled to outside. Fresh filtered air is brought from outside, heated by passing through the heat exchanger and supplied to the habitable rooms is the house. The requirements for this system is covered by part F of the building regulations. |
